Tomorrow, Elysian Eclipse will turn 6 months old! Over 1,000 hours of development went into the game since the beginning of the year, creating a solid base for everything that is to come. Through consistent work, small things like adding a label or sorting some files, will turn into something big, like the demo we have now. Let's take a look at what we did this month!

Milestone: Settings and Premade Creations

The Archive now contains a set of premade creations. These are embedded into the game itself and serve either as templates for your own creations or as a way to fill your game with content, when you don't have any player-made creations yet. You can identify them through the purple background of their card and the archive icon. Additionally all cards have an icon to show their type now. You can also see how many creations of each type exist, if you look at the navigation.

Not only the archive has seen improvements though. The pause menu now contains an area for graphics, where you can enable fullscreen mode and change the resolution of the game to any size that is supported by your screen. Right next to the graphics, you can also find the controls, as a full list of every keybind in the game.

Milestone: New Body Materials and Cell Parts

A total of 6 new parts were added this month. Three new body materials: Alloy, which gives your creature a metallic look; Fur, with customizable length and density; And Luminescent Skin, that can glow in different colors. Aswell as three new utility organs for cells: Ribosomes to restore HP; Cell Walls to increase maximum HP; And Toxicysts to reflect damage. In the image above, you can see some examples for fur.

Milestone: Leg Prototype and Duplicating Parts

While limbs aren't officially in the game yet, we've already spent a lot of time experimenting with legs and tails. In the video you can see the first prototype for legs. They are still very unstable, but it's a good start! Other than that, there were a variety of different improvements to the editor. When you drag an existing part while holding CTRL it gets duplicated, including all properties like color and size, aswell as all the parts placed on top of it! While CTRL is pressed you can also resize parts with the scroll wheel, even the pseudopods, which weren't resizable before.

What's coming next for Elysian Eclipse

For the next month of development we want to focus on the following:

• Adding ALL of the remaining cell parts (at least 7)
• Filling cell stage with objects like Nutrients, Microfossils and Whirlpools
• Creating a Movement Prototype for creature stage

But wait! What about the nest editor? It was moved to a future update, so we can focus on finishing the cell parts and creature controls, which is way more important right now. I hope you can understand that.
