Welcome to another Elysian Log, where we look at what was implemented in this update and what you can expect from the next month of development.

Milestone: Day / Night Cycle

Creature Stage now has a Time and Weather System that will work differently on different planets, resulting in a lot of visual variety for the skies and even some minor gameplay changes. The time on the starter planet will be exactly 72 times faster than on earth, resulting in 20 minute days. Planets you encounter in space stage will have different day lengths, depending on their rotation. You can already see a faster 2 minute day cycle in the Patreon demo, including some moving clouds and a single patch of rain.

Milestone: Quest System

Quests have been added to Elysian Eclipse! They can give you all sorts of rewards, like evolution points or new creature parts. A main quest will guide you through every stage, giving you an objective to work towards and acting as a tutorial at the same time. Besides that, every area in cell stage will also feature a "world quest" that will unlock all neighbouring map areas, when completed.

Milestone: Map Sections

The cell stage map has been greatly expanded to make room for new biomes and now features a total of 75 areas, spread across 3 sections, known as eras.

In the future, every section will contain its own unique biomes, to give you a sense of progression. Additionally every area in a section has a randomly generated name. To unlock the next section, you have to defeat a boss in your current one. The idea of having multiple map sections will also continue into aquatic stage, where it will represent depth or something similar.

Milestone: Website Rework

Not only the game itself has seen improvements this month, but also its website! We started on a rework of the site, that will integrate the Wiki directly into it. This way you will be able to look up info about items, biomes, editors, etc. directly on the website, making it the ultimate source of information about Elysian Eclipse! Right now it's still under construction and more pages will be added slowly over the next weeks.
